1 Piece Ball Valve Main Requirements

Date:

The selection of materials for the main body and internal components of a 1 Piece Ball Valve pipe should adhere to the following three principles: "high flame retardancy," "exempt pressure," and "minimum limiting thickness."

"High flame retardancy" refers to engineering alloys that neither burn nor exhibit combustion-quenching properties when subjected to a fire incident.

"Exempt pressure" refers to the maximum pressure not limited by flow rate in high-purity oxygen (99.7%) where particle impact may occur.

"Minimum limiting thickness" refers to the minimum thickness of the material suitable for 1 Piece Ball Valve pipe components. Material thickness is a critical variable in flammability testing; as we all know, thinner materials are more susceptible to ignition. The thickness of the metal or alloy used in the 1 Piece Ball Valve pipe must not be less than the thickness specified in Section 4.2.2.3 of the European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA) standard for "Oxygen Piping Systems" (IGC DOC 13/02/E), which states: "The appearance of electroplating or spraying does not meet the requirements because the necessary thickness cannot be achieved using these processes." Therefore, any electroplated or thermally sprayed materials should not be used in 1 Piece Ball Valve.

The selection of piping system materials is governed by the application conditions of the design operating speed and the maximum possible operating speed. These speeds are based on normal equipment operation and ventilation, not during mechanical failure or other abnormal conditions. Velocity refers to the average velocity of the medium in the pipe at the operating pressure, temperature, and flow rate.

v = Q/f

v is the average velocity, Q is the volumetric flow rate at the actual pressure and temperature, and f is the flow area.

The maximum velocity in a typical 1 Piece Ball Valve is the Boing speed, which occurs when the absolute pressure ratio is greater than 2:1. Furthermore, increasing the pressure ratio has little effect on the passage of sound waves through the 1 Piece Ball Valve. Therefore, 1 Piece Ball Valvematerial selection is also based on a pressure ratio of 2 or above.
