3-way Ball Valve Stem Packing

Date:

l Disassemble the body cover connecting bolts (5) and nuts of the 3 Way Ball Valve, separate the valve cover from the valve body, and remove the valve cover gasket (16).

l Confirm that the valve ball (3) is in the "off" position, which makes it easier to remove it from the valve body, and then remove the valve seat.

l Push the valve stem (6) downward from the center hole of the valve body until it is completely removed, and then remove the O-ring (8) and the valve stem lower packing (7)

Note: Please operate with caution to avoid scratching the valve stem surface and the valve body stuffing box sealing part

B) Reassembly

l Clean and inspect the disassembled parts. It is strongly recommended to replace the valve seat and valve cover gasket and other seals with spare parts kits

l Assemble the stainless steel ball valve in the reverse order of disassembly.

l Cross-tighten the flange connecting bolts (5) with the specified torque.

l Tighten the valve stem nut (13) with the specified torque

l After installing the actuator, input the corresponding signal to rotate the valve stem to drive the valve core to rotate, so that the valve is to the open and closed positions. If possible, perform a pressure seal test and performance test on the valve in accordance with relevant standards before reinstalling it into the pipeline.

Model Designation:

For valves like the Q11S-16C, the "S" designation is an older designation. "S" stands for plastic seals, while "F" stands for PTFE or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) materials.
