Temperature And Pressure Limitations On Threaded Ball Valves

Temperature and Pressure Limitations of Threaded Ball Valve

The nameplate indicates the maximum operating pressure allowed for the ball valve at the maximum and minimum operating temperatures.

For valve seats and seals made of PTFE or RTFE, the operating temperature range is -29°C to 200°C. The operating temperatures of other types of valve seats and seals must be verified by the KI factory.

The nominal pressure rating (PN) of the valve indicates the maximum operating pressure of the valve at normal temperatures. (For example, PN 4.0 indicates a maximum operating pressure of 40 bar (4.0 MPa) at operating temperatures between -29°C and 38°C.)

For precautions regarding electric or pneumatic actuators, refer to the corresponding manuals. 1) Remove the protective caps on both sides of the flange and flush the valve with it fully open.

2) Before installation, perform a complete test using the specified signal (electrical or pneumatic) to prevent vibration from transport from affecting performance. Only install the valve after passing the test (wiring should follow the electric actuator circuit diagram).

3) Before connecting to the pipeline, flush and remove any remaining impurities in the pipeline (these impurities may damage the valve seat and ball).

4) During installation, do not use the valve actuator as a lifting point to avoid damage to the actuator and accessories.

5) This type of valve should be installed horizontally or vertically on the pipeline.

6) The pipeline near the installation point must not sag or be subject to external forces. Use pipe supports or other supports to eliminate pipeline deviation.

7) After connecting to the pipeline, cross-tighten the flange bolts to the specified torque.
