Precautions For Repairing 3-piece Ball Valve
Maintenance Precautions for 3 Piece Ball Valve:
Hard-seated ball valves must be in the closed position, with pressurized fluid still present within the valve body.
Before repairing a hard-seated ball valve, release line pressure and place the valve in the open position.
Before repairing, disconnect the power or air supply.
Before repairing, disconnect the actuator from the bracket.
Before disassembly, ensure that the upstream and downstream pipelines of the ball valve are depressurized.
When disassembling and reassembling, be careful to avoid damaging the sealing surfaces of components, especially non-metallic components. Use specialized tools to remove O-rings.
During assembly, tighten the bolts on the flange symmetrically, gradually, and evenly.
The cleaning agent should be compatible with the rubber, plastic, and metal components of the ball valve, as well as the working medium (e.g., gas). When using gas as the working medium, gasoline (GB484-89) can be used to clean metal parts. Non-metallic parts can be cleaned with purified water or alcohol.
Individual components can be cleaned by immersion. Metal parts with undisassembled non-metallic parts can be scrubbed with a clean, fine silk cloth soaked in detergent (to prevent loose fibers from adhering to the parts). During cleaning, remove all grease, dirt, glue buildup, dust, and other debris adhering to the surface.
Non-metal parts should be removed from the detergent immediately after cleaning and should not be soaked for extended periods.
After cleaning, wait until the detergent evaporates from the surface (you can wipe with a silk cloth not soaked in detergent) before reassembly. However, do not leave the parts for extended periods, as this will cause rust and dust contamination.
New parts should also be cleaned thoroughly before assembly.
Lubricate with grease. The grease should be compatible with the ball valve metal, rubber components, plastic components, and the working medium. For gas, grease such as Special 221 can be used. Apply a thin layer of grease to the seal mounting groove, the rubber seal, and the sealing and friction surfaces of the valve stem.
During assembly, do not allow metal debris, fibers, grease (except for specified uses), dust, or other impurities or foreign matter to contaminate, adhere to, or remain on the surface of the components or enter the internal cavity.
