How To Ensure The Long Service Life Of 3pc Flanged Ball Valve

Date:

To ensure the longevity of 3PC Flanged Ball Valve, corrections for temperature and density fluctuations, based on the flow coefficient and nonlinear error coefficient, are required. With a measurement accuracy of approximately 0.5%, signal testing can be performed against the standard current displayed on-site to achieve the desired output and automatic control coefficients. Parameters can then be automatically adjusted and set via a computer network.

When fully open or closed, the sealing surfaces of the ball and seat are isolated from the media, preventing erosion of the valve sealing surfaces when the media passes through. They are suitable for a wide range of applications, ranging from small diameters of a few millimeters to large diameters of several meters, and from high vacuum to high pressure.

1. Before use, flush the pipes and valve body flow passages with water to prevent residual iron filings and other debris from entering the valve body.

2. When the ball valve is closed, some media remains within the valve body and is under a certain amount of pressure. Before servicing a stainless steel ball valve, first close the shut-off valve in front of the valve, open the valve to be serviced, and completely release the internal pressure. If it's an electric or pneumatic ball valve, first disconnect the power and air supply.

3. Soft-seal ball valves generally use polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) as the sealing material, while hard-seal ball valves have a metal overlay for the sealing surface. If you need to clean a pipeline ball valve, be careful during disassembly to prevent damage to the sealing ring and leakage.

4. When disassembling or assembling a flanged ball valve, first tighten the bolts and nuts on the flange, then slightly tighten all the nuts, and finally tighten firmly. Forcing individual nuts first before tightening the others can cause uneven pressure between the flange surfaces, leading to damage or cracking of the gasket, and leakage from the valve flange.

5. When cleaning the valve, the solvent used must be compatible with and non-corrosive to the components being cleaned. Gas-specific ball valves can be cleaned with gasoline. Other components can generally be cleaned with reclaimed water. During cleaning, thoroughly remove any remaining dust, oil, and other debris. If water is not sufficient, use a targeted cleaning agent such as alcohol, provided it does not damage the valve body or components. After cleaning, wait until the cleaning agent has completely evaporated before reassembling.

6. If minor leaks are detected at the packing during use, slightly tighten the stem nut until the leak stops. Do not tighten further.

7. Prolonged outdoor storage can cause rust on the valve body and components, rendering it inoperable. Stainless steel ball valves should be stored in a manner that protects them from rain, water, and moisture, and the flange covers must be securely secured. Valves that have been stored for more than 12 months should be retested upon use to ensure stable performance.
