Important Notes Before Repairing a 2 Piece Threaded Ball Valve

1. Ensure that the upstream and downstream piping of the ball valve are depressurized before disassembly.

2. During disassembly and reassembly, be careful to avoid damaging the sealing surfaces of components, especially non-metallic components. Use specialized tools when removing O-rings.

3. During assembly, tighten the bolts on the flange symmetrically, gradually, and evenly.

4. The cleaning agent must be compatible with the rubber, plastic, and metal components of the ball valve, as well as the working medium (e.g., gas). When the working medium is gas, gasoline (GB484-89) can be used to clean metal parts. Non-metallic parts can be cleaned with purified water or alcohol.

5. Individual disassembled components can be cleaned by immersion. Metal parts with undisassembled non-metallic components can be scrubbed with a clean, fine silk cloth soaked in cleaning agent (to prevent loose fibers from adhering to the components). During cleaning, remove all grease, dirt, glue, dust, and other debris adhering to the surface.

6. After cleaning, remove non-metallic parts from the cleaning agent immediately and avoid soaking them for extended periods.

7. After cleaning, wait until the cleaning agent evaporates (you can wipe with a silk cloth not soaked in cleaning agent) before reassembling. However, do not leave the parts for extended periods to prevent rust or contamination.

8. New parts must also be cleaned thoroughly before assembly.

9. Lubricate with grease. The grease should be compatible with the ball valve's metal, rubber, and plastic components, as well as the working medium. For gas, a grease such as Special 221 can be used. Apply a thin layer of grease to the seal mounting groove, the rubber seal, and the sealing and friction surfaces of the valve stem.

10. During assembly, do not allow metal debris, fibers, grease (except for specified uses), dust, or other impurities or foreign matter to contaminate, adhere to, or remain on the surface of the parts or enter the internal cavity.
