What Should I Pay Attention To When Using A 3-piece Ball Valve?

Date:

3 Piece Ball Valve consists of a valve body, ball, seat, shaft, and guide sleeve. Its unique feature is that the ball utilizes a fixed support structure, with a boss on the seat where it contacts the ball. A lip seal is installed on the sealing surface between the seat and the ball. A seal is also installed on the shaft adjacent to the guide sleeve. This product's technical solution addresses the issues of unreliable sealing, easy peeling of the hardened layer on the sealing surface, and high torque in ball valves used in the GSP process for pulverized coal transportation. It also addresses the issue of susceptible guide components, improves the valve's resistance to abnormal sticking, and eliminates the need for dedicated gas lines for purging.

Precautions:

1. When a hard-seal ball valve is closed, pressurized fluid remains inside the valve body.

2. Before repairing, release the line pressure and place the valve in the open position.

3. During assembly, the bolts on the flanges must be tightened symmetrically, gradually, and evenly.

4. During assembly, metal debris, fibers, grease (except for specified uses), dust, and other impurities and foreign matter must not contaminate, adhere to, or remain on the surface of the components or enter the internal cavity.

5. Before disassembling, ensure that the upstream and downstream pipelines of the ball valve are depressurized.

6. During disassembly and reassembly, be careful to avoid damaging the sealing surfaces of components, especially non-metallic components. Use specialized tools to remove O-rings.

7. Before repairing, disconnect the power or gas supply.

8. The cleaning agent must be compatible with the rubber, plastic, and metal components of the ball valve, as well as the working medium (e.g., gas). When using gas as the working medium, gasoline (GB484-89) can be used to clean metal parts. Clean non-metallic parts with pure water or alcohol.

9. Individual disassembled parts can be cleaned by immersion. Metal parts with undisassembled non-metallic parts can be scrubbed with a clean, fine silk cloth soaked in detergent (to prevent fibers from falling off and adhering to the parts). Remove all grease, dirt, glue, dust, and other debris adhering to the surface during cleaning.

10. After cleaning, remove non-metallic parts from the detergent immediately and do not soak them for extended periods.

11. After cleaning, wait until the detergent evaporates from the surface (you can wipe with a silk cloth not soaked in detergent) before reassembling. However, do not leave the parts for extended periods, as this will cause rust and dust contamination.

12. New parts must also be cleaned before assembly.

13. Lubricate with grease. The grease should be compatible with the ball valve metal, rubber components, plastic components, and the working medium. For gas, grease such as Special 221 can be used. Apply a thin layer of grease to the seal mounting groove, the rubber seal, and the sealing and friction surfaces of the valve stem.

14. Before maintenance, disconnect the actuator from the bracket.
